Written by The Editorial Team

The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) today announced the appointment of Lorraine Gray as its new Chief Executive.

Ms Gray was appointed Interim Chief Executive in the spring, following Anna Fowlie’s move to the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations. Ms Gray has a long association with the SSSC, most recently as the Director of Strategy and Performance.

Professor James McGoldrick said today: “I am delighted that Lorraine is our new Chief Executive. Lorraine brings extensive knowledge and experience of the SSSC and social services to the role as well as boundless energy and genuine passion for the work of this organisation. Along with my fellow Council Members, I am looking forward to working together over the coming year.”

Commenting on her appointment, Lorraine (pictured) said: “I am very proud of the Scottish Social Services Council and all that we have achieved so far. I am pleased to be the new Chief Executive and very much looking forward to working with the Convener and the Council, our dedicated and skilled staff, our registrants and employers, partners and others, building on our achievements. This is an exciting time for the organisation as we continue our registration programme and our digital transformation.”

Ms Gray starts her new role with the SSSC at its offices in Dundee today.
